The
Ruscitto family has been involved with Arabians since 1982.
Marla, youngest of four Ruscitto children, is already known
as a National-winning amateur rider.
In Scottsdale
2002, Marla received the highly respected award for amateurs,
"2001 Amateur Performance Horsewoman of the Year"
at the Professional Horseman's Awards Banquet.
One
of Carol & Lou's proudest moments was when Marla won a National
Championship in Arabian English Pleasure AAOTR on their stallion,
the incomparable, Hucklebey Berry+/. Marla thinks the cheering
crowd helped her at Nationals. "HBB hears the noise and he
just loves it. He knows what his job is when he enters the ring.
He did a wonderful job. I could not ask for a more exciting experience;
winning was an added bonus."
Marla
also rode Hucklebey Berry +/'s top winning Half-Arabian, The Big
OH, to three of her eight national titles and took young Jazzberry
Bey, a purebred in his first season of competition, to Youth Nationals
in 1999 and won a unanimous National Championship in Country Pleasure
JOTR 14-17 and a top ten in JTR.
In 2002, Marla
took EA Mybey Berry to Unanimous Canadian National Champion,
Purebred Country English Pleasure AOTR 18-39. Most recently
this talented pair (Marla and EA Mybey Berry, affectionately
known as "Bobbie") were awarded the 2006 U.S. National
Championship in Arabian Country Pleasure Driving, Adult Amateur
Owner To Drive. This was a remarkable feat considering Bobbie
presented Empress with a handsome colt out of Apollopalooza
just a few months earlier!
With the support
of her parents, Lou and Carol, as well as her horse trainer,
Chad Judy, Marla maintains incredible balance between work and
finding time to ride and show horses. Marla is a graduate Suma
Cum Laude of Duquesne University in Marketing and Business Administration.
